Toolkit
Subs reminder email.
Wording you can paste into your own email. Change the words in square brackets. This page does not send the email. Once the club is set up, reminders go out on the days you choose and stop when the member has paid.
When to use it
Use it while you are still writing to members yourself, or for someone who asked for a note from the club. Do not send it as well as an automatic reminder about the same payment. Two notes in the same week is how people start ignoring both.
On subs.ie, email reminders go out before and after the due date, on the days you choose, and never more than one every three days. They stop once the member has paid, including when you record cash. How that works is covered in collecting subs online.
What to change
- [club name] and [first name]: the club, and the person who pays.
- [amount]: what is still to pay, not the full price if they have paid some of it.
- [season]: the year or the season you are collecting for.
- [pay link]: the club's join link, or the member's own pay link once you have one.
If they paid cash or by transfer in the last day or two, they may not be on your list yet. The template asks them to tell you. Record that payment so the next reminder does not go out. Memberships and reminders are on Features. The fee for an online payment is on Pricing.

Questions
Will subs.ie send this email?
No. You copy it into your own email. subs.ie reminders are a separate message, sent only once the club has switched them on, and they stop when the member has paid.
What if they have already paid?
The template asks them to ignore it and tell the treasurer. Record the cash, transfer or cheque so they show as paid and the next reminder does not go.
How often should we send it?
Not more than you would want to receive. On subs.ie the automatic reminders are never more than one every three days. Match that if you are sending them yourself.
Where is the online fee explained?
On the pricing page. One fee on each online payment, including VAT and the card fees. The club decides who pays it. A payment you record by hand has no online fee.
