Guide
Soccer club membership payments.
Adult, underage and family rates for a season that usually starts in late summer. A parent can pay on a phone, and the club downloads a list when the Football Association of Ireland asks for registration.
The season
Most Irish soccer clubs play from late summer to the end of spring. Schoolboy, schoolgirl and amateur leagues usually start in August or September. Some leagues play a summer season instead. Set the dates to the year you are collecting for.
On subs.ie you set the season dates and a due date. Email reminders count from that due date. They go out on the days you choose, never more than one every three days, and they stop once the member has paid.
Juvenile, adult and family rates
A soccer club usually charges an adult player, an underage player and a family rate. A social membership can cover non-playing members and supporters. Parents add each child on the one form.
The club names each membership and sets the price. A type can have a minimum age, a maximum age, or both, checked on a date you choose. A family membership is one price. You can limit how many adults and how many children it includes. An adult, for that count, is 18 or over on that date. On other memberships you can cap what a household pays, so a family is not charged more than the amount you choose.
Members can pay the full amount by card, Apple Pay or Google Pay. A treasurer can record cash, a bank transfer or a cheque, and those payments have no online fee. A membership can be split into 2 to 10 monthly payments of at least €5. Members only see instalments once that option is switched on for the club. The detail is in Instalments for club fees.
Registration and insurance
Players are registered with the Football Association of Ireland. Clubs often collect a registration or insurance amount with the membership. Set that as its own price, or include it in the membership. subs.ie does not look up the association's fee.

Questions
When do soccer clubs usually collect membership fees?
Most clubs collect before an August or September start and play through to the spring. Some leagues play in the summer, so set the season to the dates you are collecting for.
Can adults and children be different prices?
Adult, underage and family rates are the usual split, and a social membership can cover non-players. Each membership has its own price and its own age rule, checked on a date you set. A family membership is one price. You can limit how many adults and children it includes, and you can cap what a household pays.
Does subs.ie register players with the Football Association of Ireland?
No. Registration with the Football Association of Ireland stays with the club. A governing body number can be stored on the member and is included in the registration spreadsheet. You download the file. subs.ie does not send it.
What does a soccer club pay for an online payment?
One fee on each online payment, including VAT and the card fees. The club decides whether it covers that fee or the member sees it as its own line. Cash, a bank transfer or a cheque recorded by the treasurer has no online fee. The pricing page shows the rate.
