Guide
Golf club membership payments.
Junior, adult and family subscriptions for a golf year that often starts in January or the spring. Handicaps and affiliation stay with Golf Ireland. The club sets every price.
The season
Golf is played all year, and the busiest months are spring to autumn. Most clubs run the subscription year from January or from a spring date they choose. Set the season to that year.
On subs.ie you set the season dates and a due date. Email reminders count from that due date. They go out on the days you choose, never more than one every three days, and they stop once the member has paid.
Juvenile, adult and family rates
Junior, adult and family subscriptions are the common ones. Many clubs also have an intermediate, student, pavilion or social rate. A household cap can stop a family paying more than the amount you choose.
The club names each membership and sets the price. A type can have a minimum age, a maximum age, or both, checked on a date you choose. A family membership is one price. You can limit how many adults and how many children it includes. An adult, for that count, is 18 or over on that date. On other memberships you can cap what a household pays, so a family is not charged more than the amount you choose.
Members can pay the full amount by card, Apple Pay or Google Pay. A treasurer can record cash, a bank transfer or a cheque, and those payments have no online fee. A membership can be split into 2 to 10 monthly payments of at least €5. Members only see instalments once that option is switched on for the club. The detail is in Instalments for club fees.
Registration and insurance
Golf Ireland looks after handicaps and club affiliation. Any affiliation amount the club passes on is a price you type in. subs.ie does not look up Golf Ireland's fee, and it does not update a handicap.
